| Abstract: | Platensimycin represents a unique structural class of antibiotics acting with a novel and highly selective mechanism. Its potent antibacterial activity and interesting chemical structure have attracked great attention of scientific community, and have made it an attractive target for chemical synthesis. This review summarizes the total syntheses of platensimycin and its analogues since its discovery in 2006. |
