| 摘 要： | 词义演变是语言发展的普遍规律,它包括词义范围的变化、词义褒贬的变化、词义的生死演变以及词义的转移等。隐喻是人类的一种思维方式和认知方式,在英语词义的发展变化中起着重要的作用。隐喻是英语词义演变的内在机制和源动力。

| Abstract: | Semantic change is a universal phenomenon in development of a language,involving the widening and narrowing of meaning,the elevation and degradation of meaning,lexical revivals and loss,meaning shift,etc.Metaphor,as a kind of human's thinking mode and cognitive instrument,plays an important role in the semantic shifts of English vocabularies and it is the inner mechanism and motive that provokes the semantic change. |
