| Abstract: | The Pingtan Strait bridge in Fujian Province is a large bridge project with bad natural conditions in the site and short in investment capital. In this paper, the bridge scheme is analysed carefully, compared repeatedly, proved scientifically and designed conceptually with the ideal location and axis, appropriate ratio of the bridge to the bank, economical bridge type, advanced structure, safty and reliable construction methods and short time for construction. This bridge is designed to be the most economical one under the prerequisite of safty and servicebility. |
