| Abstract: | We show that any finitely generated non-elementary Kleiniangroup has a co-final family of finite index normal subgroupswith respect to which it has Property  . As a consequence, anyclosed hyperbolic 3-manifold has a co-final family of finiteindex normal subgroups for which the infimal Heegaard gradientis positive. Received March 25, 2007. |
