Design of S-shaped diffusers in incompressible flow |

| Abstract: | The hodograph method, in conjunction with a numerical form of the Schwarz-Christoffel transformation, is applied to the determination of the shape of an S-shaped diffuser subject to certain prescribed characteristics in incompressible flow. It is shown how the resulting diffuser of infinite length can be modified to one of finite length by limiting the upstream and downstream velocities to within a small percentage of their normal asymptotic values |
