Abstract: | A comparison was made between the experimental and the calculated dependence of the equilibrium potential on the ratio of the diffusion currents (E ? log(iK,k/iD,a)) for various combinations of intermediates. In addition the observed equilibrium potential was correlated to the calculated ratio log(FMN]/FMNH2]). A good correlation is obtained if the following intermediates are assumed to occur on FMN reduction in 0.05 M H2SO4: FMNH., (FMN·FMNH2) and (FMNH.·FMNH2); it must also be assumed that the last named intermediate is non-reducible. |
