Abstract:The steel sample is dissolved in a mixture of sulphuric acid and hydrogen peroxide. Tin is extracted as SnI4 with benzene and determined photometrically with 3′-pyridylnuorone. 3×10?4% of Sn can still be determined in a 1000 mg sample without interference of molybdenum. Standard deviations were within the range of ± 0.001 to ± 0.00002%.
