Untersuchungen über den Doppel-Compton-Effekt

The differential cross section for the double Compton effect has been measured by analysing the energy of the scattered photons. The γ rays are detected by sodium iodid scintillation crystals and photomultipliers, fixed at 90° to each other and to the incident beam. For detecting low energy photons down to 7.2 keV one photomultiplier was replaced by a proportional counter. The experimental results obtained in this work are over the total range of the measured spectrum in good agreement with the theoretical predictions.
