| Abstract: | A BINOL-phosphoric acid-catalyzed furylogous Pinacol rearrangement is developed. This reaction produces spiro cyclopentanone in good yields under mild conditions. The enantioselective version of this reaction is also investigated using chiral phosphoric acid (CPA) as the catalyst. |
