On Faulkner's Localism

Most of Faulkner's works are set against the background of his hometown.In his works,he described the local nature,conditions and customs to express his deep love for his native land.It may say that "hometown complex" is the source of his creation.So we can better understand Faulkner and his works if we can fully understand his localism.Faulkner's localism consists of the view of "root",community of the South,harmonious land and so on.His localism originates from the traditions of the South of American and the failing experience of American Civil War.Faulkner takes localism as a weapon to criticize the evils of capital society in the North.His attitudes torwards the tradition is really enlightening to us.
