Abstract:
The group action of cumulative jets on a composite material made of corundum and glass-fiber reinforced plastic is studied. The obtained results show that the collective action of cumulative jets enhances the efficiency of resistance of a brittle material to high-speed penetration at certain geometric and time relations. These specific features manifest themselves under subsonic penetration conditions and support the mechanism of a radial action of a cavity in a high-strength brittle material on a penetrating cumulative jet.
