A functional inequality for real-analytic functions

Abstract:Summary Forf ( Cn(prop) and 0 lest lesx letJn(f, t, x) = (–1)nf(–x)f(n)(t) +f(x)f(n)(–t). We prove that the only real-analytic functions satisfyingJn(f, t, x) ges 0 for alln = 0, 1, 2,ctdot are the exponential functionsf(x) = c elambdax,c, lambda isin rx. Further we present a nontrivial class of real-analytic functions satisfying the inequalitiesJ0(f, x, x) ges 0 andint0x(x – t)n – 1Jn(f, t, x)dt ges 0 (n ges 1).
