| Abstract: | It was found that the nitro group in 4-nitro-3-hydroxyquinoline readily undergoes exchange in acidic media; the corresponding 4-halo-, 4-mercapto, 4-phenylsulfonyl, and p-tolylthio derivatives of 3-hydroxyquinoline were obtained. |
