| Abstract: | Vanadium, chromium, and nickel have been injected into TFR tokamak plasmas by using the laser injection technique. Spectroscopic studies show that the particle confinement time increases as the impurities diffuse towards the plasma center. Moreover, the confinement time of laser-injected vanadium impurities has been found to increase with the mass of background plasma ions. |
