| Abstract: | A mechanism based on polar transport is proposed for the problem of biological pattern formation. The model shows an inhomogeneous distribution of biologically active molecules, an inherent tissue polarity, and approximate proportional pattern regulation. Application of the model to specific biological problems is proposed. |
