Abstract: | The crystal structure of xanthopterine-hydrochloride. The crystal structure of the title compound, a pterine, has been determined by X-ray analysis (direct methods) and refined with 1332 structure amplitudes to R = 0.027. The crystal system is monoclinic, space group P21/c, with unit cell dimensions a = 7.942, b = 8.417, c = 12.076 Å, β = 93.77°. The molecule is protonated at the N(1)-position. The angle between the planes of the pyrimidine and pyrazine rings is 2.02°. |
