Abstract: | The vibrational spectrum of crystalline dimethylsulphoxide at 213 K has been studied by i.r. and Raman spectroscopy. Such an experiment is proposed as an example to show how much the dipole-dipole interaction forces can affect the molecular disorder often observed in molecular crystals of compounds containing sulphur atoms. |
