Design,Synthesis, and Characterization of (2‐Alkyl/aryl‐3H‐imidazo[2,1‐c][1,2,4]triazol‐3‐yl)(aryl)methanone

The important therapeutic properties of imidazole‐related drugs have encouraged the medicinal chemists to synthesize and test a large number of novel molecules. In this investigation, it was of interest to synthesize (2‐alkyl/aryl‐3H‐imidazo2,1‐c]1,2,4]triazol‐3‐yl)(aryl)methanone by short reaction times of N‐triazol‐3‐yl imidate with phenacyl bromides under basic conditions. All compounds were elucidated by spectroscopic methods including IR, ¹H‐NMR, ¹³C‐NMR, elemental analyses, and mass spectral analysis.
