| Abstract: | Vinylidenecyclopropanes 1 can undergo intramolecular rearrangement to give the corresponding functionalized 1,2-dihydronaphthalenes in the presence of gold catalyst under mild conditions. A plausible rearrangement mechanism has been proposed on the basis of control experiments. |
