Abstract:A procedure is optimized for the vapor generation of chlorine, bromine, and iodine by oxidation chloride, bromide, and iodide in solutions. The effect some oxidants (K2S2O8, H2O2, KMnO4, K2Cr2O7, NaNO2, KBrO3, KClO3, and KIO3) on the analytical signals of halogens in the short-wave spectral region, Cl(I) 134.724, Br(I) 154.065, and I(I) 178.276 nm is studied. A highly sensitive procedure is developed for determining chlorine, bromine, and iodine in aqueous solutions by inductively connected plasma atomic-emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) using the vapor generation of halogens.
