| Abstract: | Monodentate DNA binding of [PtCl(dien)]+ (dien=diethylenetriamine) complexes may considerably affect the biophysical properties of DNA and consequently downstream cellular processes as a result of a large increase in the bulkiness of the nonleaving ligand by multiple methylation (see illustration).  |
