Abstract: | Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) was applied to detect elements in different liquids (water and oil). Spectra of plasmas generated by focusing the second harmonic 5=532 nm of a pulsed Nd:YAG laser on the liquids' surfaces at atmospheric pressure were recorded. Calibration curves for chromium in water and in oil were obtained, and detection limits were deduced. |
