Abstract:Sulfosalicylic acid(SSA) and p-toluene sulfuric acid(p-TSA) are the main toxic pollutants in doxycycline waste water.A method was developed for simultaneous determinations of these two compounds in doxycycline waste water by UV spectrophotometry.The optimal determination conditions were studied.The recovery tests were satisfactory.Experimental results indicated that the maximum wavelengths of the two analytes did not vary in the pH range of 4-9.The linear ranges of the calibration curves with the correlation coefficients for SSA and p-TSA were 0-17.5 mg/L,0.999 0 and 0-20.0 mg/L,0.999 0,respectively.The recoveries and RSD for SSA and p-TSA were 96%-105%,3.9% and 95%-105%, 4.3%,respectively.
