| Abstract: | Summary A new method is developed to calculate the frequencies, amplitudes, and energy losses of the modes of an open resonator consisting of two plane circular mirrors.The present theory does not suffer from some of the disadvantages of earlier theories. Numerical results are given for a resonator with a small Fresnel number. |
