The Range of Metastable Formation and the Morphology of the Crystals in the System CaCO3–MnCO3

Abstract:Both slow precipitation, hydrogen carbonate transport at room temperature as well as hydrothermal decomposition of oxalates were used to grow mixed crystals in the system CaCO3–MnCO3. The limits of the immiscibility gap below 400 °C and the range of metastable formation at low temperatures were investigated Changes of the morphology of the crystals dependent on the temperature of formation and their composition are described.
