| Abstract: | Abstract From the appearance potential measurements, groups with σ-bivalent sulfur are known to exert an unusual carbocation stabilization effect. In contrast to corresponding considerations on carbanions the 3d orbitals of sulfur can be invoked to rationalize this effect. |
