3,3‐Bis(2‐methoxy­phenyl)‐3H‐benzo­[f]­chromene

The substituent methoxy group at the phenyl ortho position in the title compound, C₂₇H₂₂O₃, has an insignificant effect on the length of the Csp³—O bond and on the non‐planarity of the pyran ring. The cause of the changes in the photochemical properties is discussed.
