Electrochemistry of 4-Picoline Complexes of Hemin |

| Abstract: | Abstract Cyclic voltammetry and polarography were used to investigate the complexes formed between hemin and 4-picoline in aqueous ethanol solutions. The number of ligands and the effect of pH on the polarographic wave were determined and used to elucidate the mechanism of the electrode reactions. Cyclic voltammetry confirmed the proposed mechanisms. Equilibrium constants were determined where possible. |
