A Sensitive and Specific Resin-Bead Test for Histidine and Its Spectrophotometric Determination Using KBr-KBrO3 Reagent

Abstract

A new, sensitive and specific spot test has been developed for histidine on resin beads. Also, a spectrophotometric method has been devised improving the old Knoop method, which is quite precise and applicable in clinical and biomedical analysis. A tentative mechanism has been proposed for the reaction.
