Detection and Spectrophotometric Determination of Pyruvic Acid

Abstract

A colour reaction has been studied for the identification and the spectrophotometric determination of pyruvic acid with iron(III) nitrate. The detection limit was 50 μg. Beer's law is obeyed in the concentration range 0.01 to 0.20 m mole of pyruvic acid.
