Abstract: | ABSTRACT A novel flow-injection Chemiluminescence (CL) system for the determination of gentamycin is described, based on the direct chemiluminescence reaction of gentamycin and Co(III) in sulfuric acid media. The unstable strongly oxidative Co(III) was electrogenerated on-line with constant current electrolysis. The chemiluminescence intensity was linear with gentamycin concentrations of 0.01~80μg/ml, the detection limit being 0.005μg/ml. The whole process could be completed in 1 min with a relative standard deviation of less than 3.2%. The proposed method is rapid and simple and is suitable for automatic and continuous analysis. This method has been applied satisfactorily to the analysis of gentamycin in pharmaceutical preparations. |
