Polarographic Determination of Thorium at Trace Level

Abstract

An indirect method has been developed For the determination of thorium(IV) at trace level, by means of the Formation of 11-molybdothorophosphoric acid, its isolation with an organic solvent, stripping with alkali and measurement of the molybdenum(VI) by its catalytic effect on the polarographic reduction of hydrogen peroxide. A detection limit of 0.067 mg/l can be achieved.
