Abstract: | Ball milling can be used to induce solid state reactions in a variety of technologies, including the activation of silicates, inorganic synthesis, and mechanical alloying. Mössbauer spectroscopy is a powerful tool to study these processes. Some typical examples are discussed in this paper, concerning disordering, alloying, and simple chemical reactions. Many more industrial applications are possible, with ample opportunity for meaningful Mössbauer investigations. |
