Abstract: | The reaction of 3,3,3-trifluoro-1-(2-thenoyl)acetone with sulfur—hydrazine hydrate—alkali and hydrazine hydrate—alkali systems is effected by reductive fission of the trifluoroacetyl group and leads to the formation of nitrogen-containing derivatives of 2-acetylthiophene.
