| Abstract: | An immobilised Pseudomonas putida cell based biosensor, able to work directly in organic solvent (n-hexane), was designed and built. The response, in n-hexane, to benzene and some of its derivatives was studied. The proposed biosensor was found to be suitable for determining benzene in hydrophobic matrices. |
