SERS Studies on Coadsorption of Thiourea and ClO - 4 at Au Electrodes in Solutions at Various pH
Abstract:Abstract Thiourea (TU) coadsorbed with ClO - 4 at gold electrodes both in neutral and acidic solutions has been studied using Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS). The SERS results indicate clearly that this coadsorption are stronger in acidic solutions than in neutral solutions. TU adsorbed at the Au electrode surface through the sulphur atom. The coadsorption of TU with ClO - 4 may be through at amino group (NH 2) in neutral solutions, and the protonated amino group (NH + 3) in acidic solutions respectively.
