Abstract:A solvent-free catalytic oxidation of p-tert-butyltoluene(PTBT) to p-tert-butylbenzoic acid(PTBA) using molecular oxygen over cobalt acetate catalyst at atmospheric condition was studied.Effects of mass ratio of catalyst to PTBA,type and amount of the promoter,oxygen flowrate,reaction temperature and time on reaction was investigated,and the optimum reaction conditions were determined.Using 30 mL of PTBT,0.7 g of catalyst,0.3 mL of acetaldehyde promoter and 100 mL /min of oxygen flowrate at a reaction tempe...
