Computer simulation of vortex self-maintenance and amplification

Abstract:We consider a mechanism of the self-maintenance and amplification of vortices (tropical cyclones and toroidal vortices of various nature) on the basis of their common relationships. The results of numerical simulations show that the heat energy in these vortices is partially transformed into vortex rotational energy due to buoyancy and Coriolis forces.
