Abstract:A simulated occlusion cell is used in studying the effect of halide anions on the activation of Al-alloy anodes. Halide anions in solution could transfer into the occluded sections with different rate, and change the potential of zero charge of Al anode in different level. The active order of Al-alloy anode in halide solutions were found to be I ->Cl ->Br -.
