Coherence and Decoherence Effects on Lasing with o without Population Inversion in a Four-level Atomic System
Abstract:The effects of coherence and decoherence on lasing with or without population inversion in a four level atomic system has been analyzed. It has shown that a change from a noninversion laser to a conventional inversion laser action can occur as the Rabi frequency of the driving field increases; another change from an inversion laser to a noninversion laser action can also occur due to the linewidth of the driving field.
