Abstract: | Investigation of Iron(III)(hydr)oxides Iron(III) (hydr)oxides were precipitated under well defined conditions in the pH-range of 4.6 to 7.9. The adsorption of electrolytes (alkali carbonates) and the yield stresses of the gels could be determined as a function of the precipitation- pH and the electrolyte amount. The measurements show that the isoelectric point is reached at the pH of 6.7. The chemical structures of the charged iron(III) (hydr)oxids and the consequences with regard to their catalytic activity in the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis are discussed. |
