| Abstract: | The theoretical discovery of a mechanism that contributes to our understanding of the origin of mass of subatomic particles was recently confirmed through the discovery of the predicted fundamental particle, by the ATLAS and CMS experiments at CERN's Large Hadron Collider. In his Nobel lecture, F. Englert gives an overview of this research which has led to the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2013 which he shared with Peter W. Higgs. 1 |
