| Abstract: | A transition metal-free protocol for the synthesis of biologically active thiazolo3,2-a]pyrimidine derivatives has been achieved by the cyclocondensation of 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-thiones with alkynyl(aryl)iodonium tosylates. This reaction demonstrates another useful application of alkynyl(aryl)iodonium tosylates as synthon of alkynyl cation. |
