ON THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE DIALECTICAL THOUGHT OF ARITHMETIC IN NINE SECTIONS AND LIU HUI'S COMMENTARY ON IT |

| Abstract: | The characteristics of the dialectical thought of Arithmetic in Nine Sections and Liu Hui's Commentary on It are discussed in three aspects. It is also pointed out that to dig out the profound thought from these two books will be of great significance in realizing the historical process of the development of the ancient Chinese mathematics and in foreseeing the future of mathematics. |
