Abstract:The small-amplitude soliton solutions in semiconductor-doped nonlinear-saturation glass fibers are analytically inveStigated in this paper.By using Kumar-NLS equation with higher order terms,the small-amplitude bright and dark soliton solutions in two given scales are obtained.The regions for the tWo type of solitons to exist and the region in which any one of the two types doesn't exist are analysed.The results show that, when a coefficient of the self-steepening effect,is of the order O (ε2),the bright and dark solitons only exist in the normal dispersion region, but when a=O(1), the two type of solitons can exist in both normal and anomalous dispersion regions. All of these solitons can propagate with two velocities.
