Amplitude-distortion factors for the inelastic scattering of an electron at a neon atom in an electric field

Inelastic electron scattering at a neon atom in the presence of an external electric field is considered. The distortion factors of the cross section_M(F) are calculated for a series of 4d and 5d levels. It is shown that the distortion factor in strong fields is a nonlinear and nonmonotonic function of the field. The distortion factors and transition probabilitiesA, are compared.
