Abstract:
We study numerically the motion of contact lines in the
context of the “Wilhelmy plate" experiment: a vertical solid plate
is withdrawn at constant velocity from a bath of liquid. We apply
the contact line dissipation quasi-static model to the relaxation
of an initially periodically deformed contact line. The obtained
numerical data are compared to the experimental results
1] showing a good agreement.
