Reaction of 1,4-diazines with indoles in the presence of acylating agents

2,3-Diindolyl-1,4-diacyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrazines and 2,3-diindolyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoxalines with acyl residues attached to one or both nitrogen heteroatoms were obtained by the reaction of pyrazines and quinoxalines with indole and 1-methyl- and 2-methylindoles in the presence of acyl chlorides or acetic anhydride.
