Processing of high density polyethylene and poly(ethylene terephthalate) blends

Commercial grades of high density polyethylene, HDPE and waste poly(ethylene terephthalate), PET were melt blended over a wide range of compositions. Effect of ethylene acrylic acid copolymer, EAA, ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer, EVA and maleic anhydride grafted EVA as compatibilizers on rheology and mechanical properties of the blend was studied. EAA was found most suitable compatibilizer.
