Abstract:The Doppler shift attenuation method has been used to determined the transition quadrupole moment of a triaxial band belonging to the γ-soft nucleus,133Ce. Doppler broadened lineshape (DBLS) analysis has revealed the magnitude of theQ t value, to be ~ 2.4 eb. This contribution provides new information of (i) the transition quadrupole moment of this band (ii) the life-times of in-band and sidefeeding transition and (iii) the relative deformations of coexisting nuclear shapes.
